Beschreibung

Sunlight Is Free. Harvesting It Is an Engineering Discipline.

Every photon that strikes a solar array carries potential — but potential without precision is waste. The difference between a system that merely functions and one that extracts every available watt is the charge controller at its heart. This is not a PWM relay switching blindly between on and off. This is a Maximum Power Point Tracking algorithm running in real time, continuously adjusting the load to operate the array at its peak power voltage — across every cloud passing, every angle change, every temperature fluctuation. The difference, measured over a year, is 20-30% more energy into your batteries from the same panels.

With a 160V DC maximum PV input and support for 12V, 24V, 36V, and 48V battery banks — including LiFePO4 with programmable charging profiles — this controller scales from a single cabin array to a full residential off-grid system. The 100A output rating means it can manage arrays up to 5kW on a 48V system, and the parallel capability allows multiple units to operate on the same battery bank for installations that need to grow over time. The LCD interface tracks real-time charging current, cumulative watt-hours harvested, battery temperature compensation, and fault diagnostics — data that turns energy management from guesswork into engineering.

Solar power without MPPT is like a precision rifle with iron sights. You will hit something. But you will not hit the peak.

Key Features

  • True MPPT Algorithm: Continuous maximum power point tracking with 99.5% peak conversion efficiency — extracts up to 30% more energy than PWM controllers
  • 160V Max PV Input: Supports high-voltage series-wired arrays, reducing cable loss and allowing longer wire runs between panels and controller
  • Multi-Voltage Auto-Detect: 12V/24V/36V/48V automatic battery bank recognition with manual override for custom configurations
  • LiFePO4 Optimized: Dedicated charging profiles for lithium iron phosphate batteries with temperature-compensated charging and low-temperature cutoff protection
  • Parallel-Ready Architecture: Multiple controllers can operate on the same battery bank without interference — scale your system incrementally
  • LCD Real-Time Monitoring: Charging current, cumulative energy harvested (kWh), battery voltage, PV voltage, temperature, and fault codes on-device
  • Comprehensive Protection: Overcharge, over-discharge, reverse polarity, short circuit, over-temperature, and PV reverse current protection — all onboard

Application Scenarios

This MPPT controller is at home in any off-grid or hybrid solar installation where maximizing harvest matters. For the remote cabin or homestead, it manages a roof array feeding a 48V LiFePO4 bank — delivering reliable power through weeks of overcast weather by extracting every watt-hour the panels can produce. RV and marine installations benefit from the auto-voltage detection, adapting seamlessly to 12V or 24V house battery configurations as the system evolves. For the DIY solar enthusiast building a ground-mount array in the backyard, the parallel capability means starting with one controller and adding a second when the panel count grows. And for remote telecom or monitoring installations where service visits are measured in months, the comprehensive protection suite ensures the system survives faults that would destroy lesser controllers. If your batteries represent an investment you intend to protect, this is the gatekeeper they deserve.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I use this controller with lead-acid and lithium batteries simultaneously?

A: No — the entire battery bank must be the same chemistry type. You select the profile (Sealed, Gel, Flooded, LiFePO4, or Li-NMC) during setup, and all batteries in the bank must match that chemistry. Mixing chemistries on one controller creates dangerous charging voltage conflicts.

Q: What gauge wire do I need for the 100A model?

A: For the 100A model, we recommend 2 AWG copper wire for cable runs under 10 feet and 1/0 AWG for runs up to 25 feet. Always size your wiring for the maximum continuous current plus 25% safety margin, and use UL-listed terminals rated for the wire gauge.

Q: Does this controller support Bluetooth or WiFi monitoring?

A: The base model features an onboard LCD display only. For remote monitoring, an optional RS485-to-Bluetooth or WiFi module may be added — check with the manufacturer for compatible communication accessories. The controller does include an RS485 port for this purpose.

Q: How many panels can I connect in series?

A: Your series string's total open-circuit voltage (Voc) must stay below 160V DC, with a 20% cold-temperature safety margin. For most residential 400W panels (Voc ~49V), this means a maximum of 2-3 panels in series per string. You can connect multiple parallel strings as long as total wattage stays within the controller's power rating for your battery voltage.

Q: Does the 100A model require active cooling?

A: The controller uses passive cooling via a finned aluminum heatsink and is rated for continuous 100A operation at ambient temperatures up to 45°C without derating. In enclosed installations (e.g., a sealed electrical cabinet), ensure adequate ventilation — the controller will self-protect via thermal throttling if internal temperature exceeds safe limits.

Parallel operation works exactly as advertised

Installed two 100A units in parallel on a 48V off-grid system with 4kW of panels. They share the battery bank seamlessly — no fighting, no oscillation. The 160V PV input limit means I can run long series strings without voltage drop issues. Have installed these for three clients now and all are reporting better harvest than their previous brand.

Solid controller, wish it had Bluetooth

Installed in my Sprinter van conversion with 600W of rooftop solar and a 200Ah lithium bank. The auto-voltage detection worked perfectly — plugged in, selected LiFePO4 profile, and it has been flawless for 3 months of full-time travel. Taking off one star because I really wish it had Bluetooth monitoring. The LCD is fine, but checking it means opening the electrical cabinet.

30% more harvest than my old PWM — measured

Replaced a 60A PWM controller with this 80A MPPT version and the difference is dramatic. On partly cloudy days, the MPPT tracking keeps the array at peak voltage instead of dragging everything down to battery voltage. My 48V LiFePO4 bank now reaches full charge by 2pm instead of 4pm. The LCD tracking display is genuinely useful for diagnosing panel issues.
