WHEN DO YOU NEED A NEW CASSETTE
Cassette sprockets could do some serious effects on your shifting experience. If the sprockets wear out, they will no longer provide good shifting control. Even make terrible noises under pressure or eventually speed the wear-out of the chain and chainrings. So you need to check the index group set to wear out the situation and ready to replace the old parts with new ones.
One thing you need to know is that when you change the cassette, you should change the chain together. Because the lower chain would be stretched longer than the new chain and that will cause the squeaks and noises. If you keep using the old chain the noise would disappear later, however, the life of the cassette would be much shorter.
Perfectly run SRAM/SHIMANO/SENSAH shifting systems
