Soil can be amended, nutrients can be corrected, water can be scheduled. Everything a plant becomes is drawn from photons, and spectrum is the part of that bill most indoor setups quietly under-pay.

LM301H chips and a MeanWell driver, described in numbers instead of adjectives. The board runs LM301H-class diodes on a 3500K white base with 660nm deep red added, and the wider build layers 730nm infrared, 395nm ultraviolet and 450nm blue into a 380 to 780nm window. A MeanWell driver sits between the mains and the diodes, which is the component cheap panels sacrifice first. That is 408 LEDs producing 48000, 96000 or 144000 lumens depending on whether you take the 240W, 480W or 720W model.

A knob rather than a menu. Dimming is physical, so a nursery, a propagation shelf or a hardening-off area is dialled down by hand without a controller, an app or a spare phone. Input spans 85 to 277V AC at 50 or 60Hz, which means the same panel works on a domestic circuit or a commercial supply without a transformer. The aluminium housing measures 500 x 100 x 18mm and weighs 3kg, and the rated diode life is 50000 hours.

One limitation worth stating plainly rather than burying. This fixture is not waterproof. It belongs above a tent or a bench, not inside a misting zone, and the manual asks for roughly 0.8 to 1.2 metres of clearance between the panel and the canopy, because the same intensity that drives growth will scorch a plant that touches the diodes.

You are not buying a lamp. The small commercial grower with a sealed room wants the wattage that matches the canopy footprint and a driver they can trust to hold output across a twelve-hour photoperiod. The propagation and nursery operation wants knob dimming so seedlings are not started under full intensity. The home grower moving up from a blurple panel wants an honest spectrum specification to plan around rather than a marketing colour claim. The research and teaching greenhouse wants a documented 380 to 780nm output and a rated 50000-hour life so the experiment is reproducible. The common thread is a buyer who has already learned that the cheapest panel is the one that has to be bought twice, and who is therefore looking at the diode brand, the driver brand and the lumen figures before anything else. The 240W is the entry point for a small tent, 480W suits a medium room, and 720W is aimed at a full commercial footprint; the panel physically scales to 408 diodes regardless of which model you take.

Grower Questions

Q: What is the difference between the 240W, 480W and 720W models?

A: Drawn power and luminous output.
