説明
The label is where a small business either looks organised or looks improvised. A gap label printed on thermal stock, applied to a jar, a parts bag or a shipping box, carries a surprising amount of brand weight: it is the one surface a customer touches before they touch the product. Paper that smears, curls at the corner or refuses to peel cleanly undoes that impression faster than a bad logo does.
This is 12 by 40 millimetre gap label stock, the narrow format used by Phomemo P12, P15 and D30 series printers, five rolls per pack. Gap stock means the label is separated by a small blank gap on a continuous liner rather than punched into a die-cut sheet, so the printer advances label by label and the roll runs to the end without the misfeed that plagues sheet stock in a small machine. The face is a direct thermal paper with a water-resistant topcoat, which is enough for a fridge shelf, a retail bag or a courier parcel, and it prints black-on-white at high contrast without ribbon.
Twelve colour options cover the practical cases: white and black for inventory, mixed and pastel shades for colour-coded categories, deep burgundy and grey for retail packaging. Each roll is wound tightly enough to sit in the printer without slack, and the adhesive releases cleanly from glass, poly bags and coated board. For a shop labelling 200 items a week, the constraint is not the printer but how many rolls are on the shelf, which is why this is sold as a five-pack.
A tidy label is the cheapest credibility a small operation can buy.

Where This Belongs
Small manufacturers use it for parts bags and bin locations. Cafes and bakeries print date and batch labels for containers that go into a fridge, where the topcoat is what keeps the print readable after condensation. Jewellery and craft sellers print price and material labels for retail packaging, using the colour range to separate product lines without a second printer. Home organisers label jars, chargers and storage boxes. The common thread is volume with variety: many small labels, each different, printed on demand rather than ordered in a thousand-unit print run that goes stale the moment the product line changes.
Questions Worth Asking
Which printers take this label size?
The 12mm gap format fits Phomemo P12, P15, D30 and Q30 series machines and other printers that accept 12mm gap label rolls. Check the roll width your printer accepts before ordering; a 12mm roll will not run in a machine built for 15mm or 25mm stock.
Is the print waterproof?
The topcoat resists light moisture, condensation and handling, which covers fridge and shipping use. It is not a synthetic waterproof film stock, so a label that sits in water or is scrubbed will eventually lose contrast. For submerged or outdoor use, specify a synthetic thermal film.
Do I need ink or a ribbon?
No. Direct thermal stock darkens under the print head's heat, so there is no ribbon, no ink and no cartridge. The trade-off is that thermal print fades under prolonged direct sunlight and above roughly 60 degrees Celsius.
How many labels are on a roll?
Roughly 130 to 160 labels per roll depending on how the printer calibrates the gap, so a five-pack covers around 650 to 800 labels in practice.
Will it peel off cleanly when I need to relabel?
The adhesive releases without tearing the face on glass, coated board and poly bags, which is what makes relabelling practical. On uncoated paper or old adhesive residue it may lift fibres, so clean the surface first.
Can I use different colours for different categories?
That is the intended workflow. Keeping black on white for inventory and using pastel or deep tones for categories lets staff read a shelf at a glance without reading the text, which matters in a stockroom where speed beats detail.
