説明

The city after eleven is a different city. The buses have thinned to a rumour, the taxi queue has folded back on itself, and the distance between where you are and where you need to be is measured in minutes you no longer have. A scooter is not a toy at that hour. It is the shortest line between two points that the timetable has abandoned.

The Night Line is built around that specific errand. A 350W or 500W hub motor -- the choice is yours at checkout -- carries a rider to 35 km/h, and the battery returns up to 45 km of assisted range, which is more than most urban round trips and enough to make charging a weekly habit rather than a nightly anxiety. The deck is wide enough for a normal stance. The folding joint is a single latch with a locking collar, so it collapses to something that fits beside a desk, under a bar counter, or in the boot of a car that has already been parked too far away.

Ride quality is where budget scooters quietly fail. This one runs pneumatic tyres and a spring-damped rear, absorbs the paving slab that the council forgot, and holds a line through the tram rail that would put a solid-wheel scooter on the ground. The brake is a disc, the lighting is wired to the main battery rather than a disposable cell, and the display reads speed, mode and remaining charge without asking you to decode a colour code. It is not a motorcycle. It was never meant to be. It is the honest answer to a 6 km problem.

Own the hour the timetable stops running.

Commuters who own the last two kilometres use it as the bridge between a train station and an office that no bus serves directly. Hospitality staff finishing after midnight use it to close a gap that a taxi would price at the night rate. Students fold it and carry it into a lecture hall rather than chaining it outside. Car owners keep it in the boot for the parking problem at the far end of a journey -- the last mile that turns a twenty-minute walk into four minutes. Riders choose the 350W for flat city work and the 500W where the route includes a bridge approach or a hill that arrives without warning.

Rider Questions

Q: Is 45 km realistic or a laboratory number?

It is a best-case figure on flat ground at moderate assist. Real urban use with stops, a heavier rider and a cold battery lands closer to 30 to 35 km. That is still a week of short trips for most riders.

Q: How does the 350W and 500W choice change the ride?

The 350W is efficient and quiet, well suited to flat city routes. The 500W adds torque for hills and headwind, holds speed better with a heavier rider, and costs a little range. Choose by terrain, not by the number.

Q: How long does it take to fold?

Two seconds once you know the motion: release the collar, drop the latch, fold the stem. It is designed to be done one-handed while holding a bag in the other.

Q: Can it handle wet roads?

The lighting and electronics are sealed for normal weather use, and the disc brake works wet. Standing water and heavy rain riding are not the design case for any scooter in this class, and the honest answer is to slow down rather than assume otherwise.

Q: What maintenance does it need?

Tyre pressure check every couple of weeks, brake pad inspection, and a look at the folding joint for play. Charge it after use rather than leaving it flat, and keep it out of freezing storage in winter.

Q: Does the disc brake feel abrupt?

No. The lever is progressive, with a bite point that arrives where you expect it. That matters more on a 10-inch pneumatic tyre than any specification number.

The brakes and tyres are what sold it

I had a solid-tyre scooter before this and it was genuinely dangerous on wet paving. Pneumatic tyres plus the rear damper make this ride a different class, and the disc brake has real feel instead of an on-off grab.

Folds small enough to take inside

It lives under my desk during the day and in the boot at weekends. The latch has no rattle after two months. Tyres need checking every couple of weeks or the ride gets harsh, which is normal for pneumatic but worth knowing.

Turns a 25 minute walk into six

Bought the 500W version because my route crosses a bridge approach. Holds speed up the incline with a normal adult rider. Range lands around 32 km in real stop-start use, which covers my week comfortably.
