説明

The Road Does Not Negotiate. The Chassis Has To. A coilover kit is not a cosmetic decision, it is a set of compromises chosen deliberately: how much travel to give away for ride height, how much comfort to trade for rebound control, and how the car behaves over a surface that changes every hundred metres. This kit takes the position that all three can be adjusted rather than accepted, with 24 levels of rebound damping, separate ride height adjustment from one to three inches, and rubber top mounts front and rear that keep city driving civil inside the adjustment range.

The structure underneath is twin tube, which secures stroke at low ride heights where a monotube would run short. Spring rates are specified front and rear at 8kg/mm (448 lbs/in) and 5kg/mm (280 lbs/in), and the springs are high tensile, tested through 600,000 continuous cycles with distortion measured below 0.04 percent, then surface treated for corrosion resistance. The complete set is four dampers and four springs with a 10mm spring pre-load setting established at the factory.

What makes this kit practical is that height is adjusted without removing the unit from the car, and without sacrificing damper stroke to gain it. Separate height adjustment means the spring pre-load does not change when the car is raised or lowered, so a drop does not quietly cost travel. Camber plates are not included and the top mounts are aluminium with rubber inserts, which is the honest description of a road kit rather than a track kit, and it is why the 24 click rebound range is useful: the same set of dampers can be set soft for a daily commute and stiffened for a weekend of mountain roads without a second purchase.

Set the height you want. Then set the ride you can live with.

Who Fits an Adjustable Kit

The buyer is usually maintaining a car rather than building a show piece. A Civic EK or EJ used for weekend driving benefits most, because the 24 click rebound range lets the owner soften the car for a daily route and stiffen it for a track day without changing hardware. Club level autocross and hill climb competitors use the separate height adjustment to corner weight the car and keep full damper stroke, which is the limitation that pushes people away from cheaper sleeve kits. Restoration and restomod projects fit this kit when originality is already lost and the priority is a car that drives properly on modern roads. Workshops and independent tuners stock it because a two year manufacturing warranty and an aluminium top mount assembly make it a straightforward job to quote. Buyers fitting to a 1992 to 1995 EJ or EG should confirm the rear fork type before ordering.

Fitment Questions

Q: Which Honda models does this kit fit?

A: Honda Civic 1988 to 1991 EE, EF and EC, Civic 1992 to 1995 EJ, EG and EH, Civic 1996 to 2000 EK2 to EK9 with rear fork type, and Acura Integra 1990 to 1993 DA and DB. Send us your chassis code and we will confirm.

Q: Does it include camber plates?

A: No. The top mounts are aluminium with rubber inserts, front and rear. Camber adjustment is a separate hardware decision and this kit is specified as a road-focused solution.

Q: How much can I lower the car?

A: Between 1 inch and 3 inches. Height is adjusted separately from spring pre-load, and the adjustment can be made without taking the unit out of the car.

Q: Will it be harsh on city roads?

A: Set at the softer end of the 24 click rebound range with the rubber top mounts, the car remains comfortable at normal speeds. Stiffening the rebound is a choice, not a default.

Q: Is installation straightforward?

A: It is a direct replacement for the original suspension hardware using the included adjustment tools. Instructions are not included in the box, so plan for a workshop manual or a competent independent garage.

Q: What does the warranty cover?

A: Two years against manufacturing defect. Wear items and damage caused by impact or incorrect installation are excluded.

Good kit, no instructions included

Quality is solid and it bolted straight on with the original hardware. There are no printed instructions, so allow time or budget for a workshop if you have not done this before. Camber plates are not included, which is stated clearly.

24 clicks make a real difference

Ran soft for the commute, then stiffened it for a track day without touching anything else. Rubber top mounts keep it civil on broken tarmac. Springs looked properly finished and the set came with the adjustment tools.

Transformed the car without ruining it

Fitted to a 1998 Civic EK. Lowered about 2 inches using the separate height adjustment and set rebound in the middle, and it rides better than the tired original suspension did. Stroke is still there at that height, which is why I chose these over sleeves.
