It says the trip is long enough that resupply is not guaranteed, and it asks the bag to carry weight for hours without transferring that weight into your shoulders. Most backpacks this size answer with padding. This one answers with a frame.

The external aluminium alloy frame is the part that matters. It runs the load vertically into a hip belt rather than letting it hang off the trapezius, which is the difference between a pack you can wear for a full day and one you want to put down every hour. The body is nylon with a waterproof finish, and the whole unit weighs 1.45 kg before packing, light enough that the structure is paying for itself rather than adding to the problem.

At 35 x 28 x 80 cm the pack stands taller than most internal frame designs, which moves the centre of gravity up and back where the frame can manage it. Sixty litres of that sits in the main compartment with the balance in the lid and side pockets, so a sleeping bag, tent, stove and four days of food fit without strapping anything to the outside.

Unisex sizing, available in blue, black and green, with a rain cover included as a gift.
