the-vault-mini-ugreen-m2-ssd-enclosure
The Vault Mini | UGREEN 10Gbps Dual-Protocol M.2 NVMe and SATA SSD Enclosure

An SSD in a drawer is dead storage. The Vault Mini turns any spare M.2 drive into pocket sized external storage that transfers a one gigabyte file in roughly a second, without a screwdriver and without a driver installation. It is the difference between backing up on schedule and backing up next month.

Inside the aluminium shell sits the Realtek RTL9210B controller, a dual protocol bridge that handles both NVMe PCIe and SATA NGFF drives, so the same enclosure works whether your drive is an M key NVMe or an M and B key SATA module. USB 3.2 Gen 2 delivers up to 10Gbps with NVMe drives and up to 6Gbps with SATA, thunderbolt 3 compatible, and real world read and write speeds reach around 1000MB per second on a capable drive. The tool free tray accepts 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 lengths up to 8TB, and a 15 minute smart sleep mode protects both the drive and the battery of whatever it is plugged into.

Thermals are handled by the slim aluminium body, which acts as a heat spreader, with an extra silicone sleeve included for grip and shock protection. A white LED indicator reports working status, flashing during data transfer. Drive free support covers Windows, Mac OS, Linux and Android, and the pack includes both a USB Type A to Type C cable and a USB C to C cable, so the same enclosure works from a desktop port, a laptop, or a phone.

Storage you can carry is storage you will actually use.

Technical Specifications

Brand: UGREEN

Model: M.2 NVMe SATA dual protocol SSD enclosure (CM400 series)

Controller: Realtek RTL9210B

Protocol Support: NVMe PCIe M key and SATA NGFF M and B key

Interface: USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C, thunderbolt 3 compatible

Transmission Rate: Up to 10Gbps NVMe, up to 6Gbps SATA

Tested Throughput: Approximately 1000MB per second read and write

Supported Drive Sizes: 2230, 2242, 2260, 2280 mm

Maximum Capacity: 8TB

Materials: Aluminium alloy, ABS plastic, silicone sleeve

Installation: Tool free, drive free, no driver needed

Compatible Systems: Windows 11, 10, 8, 7, XP, Linux, Mac OS, Android, iOS

Cables Included: USB Type A to Type C 0.25 m, USB C to C 0.5 m

Power Saving: 15 minute smart sleep mode

Warranty: 1 year manufacturer warranty with 7 day return window

Key Features

✦ Realtek RTL9210B controller, the chip that separates stable enclosures from dropout prone cheap ones

✦ Dual protocol bridge supports NVMe PCIe and SATA NGFF drives in one unit

✦ 10Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface moves a 1GB file in about one second

✦ Tool free tray locks 2230 to 2280 drives with rubber fasteners only

✦ Aluminium body doubles as a heat spreader for sustained transfer speeds

✦ 15 minute smart sleep mode extends drive life and preserves host battery

✦ Includes both Type A to C and C to C cables for laptop, desktop and phone use

✦ Silicone sleeve adds drop protection and grip for travel

Who It Is For

This enclosure suits IT technicians who need to read customer drives on site, video editors moving project files between workstations, and anyone upgrading a laptop who wants the old drive to become fast portable storage instead of e waste.
